Subject to the Reserved Rights described below, The Back of the Yards characters, storylines, settings, written descriptions, and other designated creative materials are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution–ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). You are welcome to use, share, adapt, and build upon these licensed materials, including for commercial purposes, provided you give appropriate attribution and distribute shared adaptations under the same or a compatible license.
Ownership of Contributions. Contributors retain ownership of their original creative contributions. By submitting work through a Made Collaborative Workshop or other designated collaboration opportunity, contributors grant Made Collaborative a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to review, reproduce, edit, adapt, display, publish, and incorporate their submissions into Back of the Yards and related projects, including promotional materials. Contributors also authorize Made Collaborative to make selected contributions available under CC BY-SA 4.0 upon publication or other express designation. This permission does not transfer ownership of the contributor’s original work to Made Collaborative. Once material is validly released under CC BY-SA 4.0, the permissions granted to recipients under that license generally cannot be withdrawn while they comply with its terms.
Reserved Rights. Made Collaborative’s names, logos, trademarks, finished comic pages, original artwork, photographs, merchandise, and other specifically excluded materials are not covered by the Creative Commons license unless expressly identified otherwise. Reproduction or commercial distribution of these protected materials requires appropriate permission.
Our Shared Creative Philosophy. We encourage participants to create their own stories, artwork, comics, and other original works using the Creative Commons-licensed elements of the Back of the Yards universe.
